Portrait or Personal Image - Jo Ann Tomaselli

I count as one of my blessings the honor to have studied with renowned landscape photographer Joel Sternfeld and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Stephen Dunn. Nestled in the Pine Barrens of southern NJ, Stockton State College provided the perfect environment to pursue a degree of my own creation in photography & creative writing. A member of IATSE (International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) Atlantic City Local 917 and New York Local 1 from 1981 - 1995, I had the opportunity to work in the exciting and glorious world of stage lighting, television and movies.

Retirement from 60+ hour work weeks and a move to coastal North Carolina in '96, led me back to an old love and the new field of digital photography. These days I'm shooting with a Canon Rebel XTi and although I enjoy the instant gratification of digital I must admit feeling nostalgic for the days of darkroom work sessions!
